A 1924 study by Princeton professor Philip Hitti found that 13,965 Arab Americans served during World War I. It is estimated as many as 15,000 served during World War II. Countless others served during the Korean conflict and Vietnam War – and most recently in the fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Who are we?
There are more than 4.5 million Americans of Arab Heritage who originate from 22 Arab World and Middle East countries. They include Palestine, Jordan, Egypt, Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, United Arab Emirates, Morocco, Mauritania, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, Sudan, Somalia, Oman, Qatar, Kuwait, the Comoros Islands, and Djibouti.
We are Muslim and Christian and proud of our heritage, culture and demand our rights.
We support Palestine & Palestinian Rights
Turmoil in the Middle East has caused misinformation to be published about many of the Arabs in America. The largest groups include Egyptians, Lebanese, Jordanians, Syrians, Saudi Arabians and Palestinians. Yes, Palestinians do exist and they have served along with all of the other Arab American national and ethnic groups proudly. They should be respected and recognized for their service, heritage and culture.
